The government yesterday rejected the US State Department report charging that the allegations in the report against Sri Lanka were ‘unsubstantiated’ and based on reports by ‘unnamed sources’. “The basis for many assertions in the US State Department report are ‘reports’ that are mainly attributed to anonymous ‘NGOs’, ‘international sources’, ‘human rights groups’, ‘observers’ and other unnamed sources,” the Ministry of Human Rights said in a statement.
